No classes – Thanksgiving

* On November 11, we celebrate Polish Independence Day. Students and teachers will sing the Polish national anthem to celebrate this holiday. We ask that on Friday, November 11th, and on Saturday, November 12th, children come dressed in Polish national colors (white and red T-shirts, sweatshirts, and scarves). In the coming school days, children will be able to purchase red T-shirts with the logo of our school. The T-shirts are $10.

* On November 11 and 12, we will be holding a photo session for all classes. Families interested in purchasing a class photo, please click on the link with the order form. Orders can be placed with the teacher until December 10, 2022.

On November 24, The United States celebrates Thanksgiving. We wish you all pleasant moments with family and friends. Due to a holiday, there will be no classes on November 25th and 26th.

Teachers Appreciation Day

Dear Teachers,
You’re an inspiration to students and other teachers alike. You’ve activated a hunger for knowledge and wisdom, inspiring me to plan all children’s futures and become better individuals.
Thank you!

From our school life:

* On October 8th, grades 2–5 will travel to Copernicus Center in Chicago for a performance of Cinderella. The departure from the school building is planned for 9 AM. Children from grades 2–5 who do not participate in the field trip, should come to school, as usual, to participate in alternative activities.

According to Polish tradition, on October 14th and 15th, we will celebrate Teacher Appreciation Day. Let’s thank our teachers for their hard work and commitment to our children’s education.

IMPORTANT!
The semiannual Parent Meeting will be held on October 21st, at 6:15 PM, in the parish building (across the street from the school). We ask all parents to participate as we will present important information regarding our school’s and future decisions.

On October 23rd, we commemorate Saint John Paul II, the patron of our school. We invite you to a Holly Mass at 11 AM, at the Cyril and Methodius Church. We encourage participants to represent our school by wearing t-shirts with the school logo or white-and-red-colored clothes.

On October 28th and 29th, we celebrate Halloween. We encourage all children to come to school in costumes!

Welcome to the New School Year!

On September 9 and 10, we begin a new school year at the Polish School of St. John Paul II. We would like to remind you of the school’s hours:

Friday classes:           6:00 PM – 8:45 PM               High school 5:00 PM – 8:45 PM

Saturday classes:    10:00 AM – 12:45 PM          High school 9:00 AM – 12:45 PM

The rules for bringing and picking up students will be the same as in the school year 2021-22. Students in grades 4-11 will enter through the main entrance. For the first 2 weeks, Preschool, Kindergarten, and grades 1-3 will meet 15 minutes before the start of classes in front of PLB (next to the church) (5:45 PM Friday; 9:45 AM Saturday). Each teacher will have a sign with their name, grade level, and room number. At 6:00 PM on Friday and 10:00 AM on Saturday, the children will be escorted to their classes by the teacher. After school (8:45 PM – Friday; 12:45 PM – Saturday) the children will be escorted back to the meeting point. From the third week on, children should be brought in front of the school’s main entrance, where teachers will be waiting in the hall.
After school, the older classes (4-11) will be the last to leave the school building.

For the safety of our students, teachers, and board members, parents are not allowed to enter the school.
