Dear Parents,

To meet the requests of parents who did not have the opportunity to enroll their children in the Polish School of John Paul II, we would like to invite you to the Open House on Sunday, June 27, 2021, from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. We will be waiting for you in front of the Parish House next to the Church of St. Cyril and Methodius in Lemont.

On this day, you will have the opportunity to enroll your children in the Polish School of John Paul II and religion lessons.

Dear parents,

We are pleased to announce that the Cyril and Methodius Parish is resuming the bilingual religion program at the Polish School of St. John Paul II. Lessons will be held in the school building, just before classes:

• Friday: 5: 00-6: 00 PM – grades 0-8
• Saturday: 9: 00-10: 00 AM – classes 0-5

Today, at the SSCM Parish in Lemont, a Holy Mass was held on the occasion of the graduation of the Polish School of St. John Paul II by students of the eighth and eleventh grades. Students with their families, teachers, and guests thanked God for the possibility of education in our Polish school.

We would like to thank the parish priest Waldemar Stawiarski, the Principle Halina Szyrzyna, teachers, and all parents.

We are proud of high school graduates and graduates of the VIII Grade of the Polish School of St. John Paul II.

3rd of May. What holiday are we celebrating?

Constitution Day is a Polish national and public holiday that takes place on May 3rd. The holiday celebrates the declaration of the Constitution of 3 May 1791. Festivities date back to the Duchy of Warsaw early in the 19th century, but it became an official holiday only in 1919 in the Second Polish Republic. Delisted during the times of the Polish People’s Republic, it was re-established after the fall of communism in modern Poland.

The Constitution Day on May 3 commemorates the establishment of the first Polish law regulating the political system of the Republic of Poland. It was the second such document in Europe and the third in the world. The act changed the state system into a hereditary monarchy. Pursuant to the Constitution, powers were divided into legislative, executive, and judicial.

In the Polish School of st. John Paul II, we celebrate this festival every year, usually by participating in the May 3 Parade in Chicago. This year, students of our school dressed in national colors sang the Polish Anthem “Mazurek Dąbrowskiego”.
