Polish Club Easter Blessing 2026

On Sunday, April 19, the Polish Club in Lemont organized this year’s Easter Blessing (Święconka) at St. Cyril and Methodius Parish. The event once again provided a wonderful opportunity to meet, connect as a community, and celebrate Polish traditions together. This year’s artistic program delighted everyone — the “Polanie” Dance Group transported us to the atmosphere of the 1920s and 1930s, inspired by New Orleans and energetic jive. The dance floor was filled with joy — children danced with incredible energy, and even the youngest performers spun through the air doing cartwheels. It was pure excitement that captivated the audience and earned thunderous applause! 💃🕺✨

Thank you to everyone who joined us — we can’t wait for more events together! 🇵🇱

Our school was visited by the Easter Bunny! 🐰

The gym floor was covered with a basket full of colorful sweet eggs, and our youngest students happily helped collect them into their own baskets 😉🧺✨
There was no shortage of smiles and joy! 💛

25 Years of “Polanie”

On November 16, we celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Polanie Dance Group — a day full of emotion, memories, dance, and pride.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all parents, guests, and sponsors who joined us on this special day and who continue to support our dance family.

Your presence, kindness, and support made this anniversary truly unforgettable.
Thank you for every smile, every kind word, and for helping us build such a strong and beautiful community. ❤️

Thank you for being part of the Polanie story.

Independence Day Celebration

On November 14–15, the entire school participated in a special assembly celebrating Polish Independence Day.
Ms. Dorota reminded us how Poles fought for their long-awaited freedom and why this day is so important to all of us.
Students recited poems, and the whole school sang together “Przybyli ułani pod okienko” and “Jak długo w sercach naszych.”
We began the assembly, of course, by singing the Polish national anthem.
The children proudly showcased their heritage! ❤️🤍
It was a deeply moving and patriotic day at our school!

Patron’s Day – Celebration of John Paul II
Patron’s Day
On October 20–21, we celebrated our school’s patron, Pope John Paul II. Our Polish School, named after the Polish Pope, was officially established on January 24, 1980, shortly after Karol Wojtyła was elected Pope. This historic moment inspired a group of Poles in Lemont to create a school dedicated to preserving Polish identity among children abroad.

On this occasion, we encouraged students to wear school shirts, which reminded us of our heritage and strengthened our sense of community. The celebration was also a time to reflect on the values John Paul II taught us — respect for the past, responsibility for the future, and love for our homeland.

We marked Patron’s Day with a special ceremony for students. To honor the occasion, children were encouraged to wear school apparel.

Mass for the Beginning of the School Year

On Sunday, October 19, we participated in a special Mass marking the beginning of the school year and the feast day of our patron, St. John Paul II. It was filled with pride, emotion, and joy!
Our school was beautifully represented, and members of the Polanie group took part in the service with great pride.

Our Students at the NEXT Conference – We Had to Be There!!!

On Saturday, October 22, our students participated in NEXT – Conversations for the Next Generation, an inspiring conference for Polish school students in the Chicago area. The event featured speakers including scientists, lawyers, artists, doctors, and entrepreneurs of Polish descent, who shared their stories and experiences.

The goal of the conference was to motivate young people to pursue ambitious goals and achieve their dreams. It was an incredibly inspiring experience that will stay with our students for a long time!

🎉 National Education Day 2025 🎉

On October 12, our teachers attended a formal banquet celebrating Teacher’s Day, organized by the Polish Teachers Association in America. 💐
They had the opportunity to meet colleagues from other schools, share experiences, and enjoy time together in the beautiful Crystal Grand Banquets hall. 🌟
We thank all our teachers for their passion, dedication, and daily care for students. Because of you, learning becomes an adventure, and school becomes a place full of warmth, joy, and inspiration ❤️
Today, we thank our wonderful teachers for their patience, passion, and daily smiles that make learning enjoyable ❤️
Your work shapes the hearts and minds of the next generation. Thank you for putting your whole heart into it every day! 🌟
