The finale of our school Spring<\/em> contest was truly a sweet celebration! Thanks to the generosity of Polish & Slavic Federal Credit Union<\/strong>, all children enjoyed delicious ice cream from The Plush Horse<\/strong>, bringing smiles and color to this special day.Huge applause to all participants for their creative work! \"\"Polish Club Easter Blessing 2026<\/span><\/p>\n

On Sunday, April 19, the Polish Club in Lemont organized this year\u2019s Easter Blessing (\u015awi\u0119conka) at St. Cyril and Methodius Parish. The event once again provided a wonderful opportunity to meet, connect as a community, and celebrate Polish traditions together.This year\u2019s artistic program delighted everyone \u2014 the \u201cPolanie\u201d Dance Group transported us to the atmosphere of the 1920s and 1930s, inspired by New Orleans and energetic jive. The dance floor was filled with joy \u2014 children danced with incredible energy, and even the youngest performers spun through the air doing cartwheels. It was pure excitement that captivated the audience and earned thunderous applause! 💃🕺✨<\/p>\n

Thank you to everyone who joined us \u2014 we can\u2019t wait for more events together! 🇵🇱<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cStawiam na Polski\u201d Competition<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Adam Karkoszka won 2nd place in the inter-school final of the \u201cStawiam na Polski\u201d competition \u2013 2026 edition! 🥈
\nCongratulations on this fantastic achievement! 👏Our school was also represented in the finals by Dominika Zyskowska and Julian Migasiuk. We are very proud of all three students!<\/p>\n

The competition, organized by the Academy of Polish Language and Culture named after Marshal J\u00f3zef Pi\u0142sudski under the patronage of Maria Curie-Sk\u0142odowska University in Lublin, is aimed at high school students from Polish schools in the Chicago area.<\/p>\n

Its goal is to promote Polish language proficiency and encourage students to pursue the Seal of Biliteracy and Polish language certifications.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Ceremony of Student Induction<\/h4>\n

Last Friday and Saturday, our first-grade students officially joined the student community during the induction ceremony!<\/p>\n

The celebration began with a beautiful artistic performance of poems and songs. The highlight was the symbolic \u201cgiant pencil\u201d induction, presentation of diplomas and gifts, and a shared celebration with refreshments.<\/p>\n

We would like to thank Ms. Gra\u017cyna Pikul from Polish & Slavic Federal Credit Union<\/a> for her presence and support, as well as our teachers and parents for their help in organizing this special day.<\/p>\n

Congratulations to our first graders \u2014 we wish them great success in their school journey!<\/p>\n

Sometimes the smallest things bring the greatest joy ✨<\/div>\n
Before the holidays, our students enthusiastically created Christmas tree chains 🎄 Each one was unique \u2014 and all of them were amazing!<\/div>\n
As a reward for their effort and creativity, the children enjoyed a small popcorn treat 🍿 There was so much joy!<\/div>\n

\u201cChristmas Chain\u201d Contest \u2013 Holiday Creativity in Action!<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\"\"Before the holidays, our classes enthusiastically prepared group art projects featuring a \u201cChristmas chain.\u201d The results of their hard work exceeded all expectations \u2014 the students\u2019 creativity impressed both teachers and parents!<\/p>\n

All projects were displayed at the Polish & Slavic Federal Credit Union during the holiday break. The winning classes received pizza sponsored by the board, and all participants were rewarded with a sweet treat in the form of a lollipop.<\/p>\n

We sincerely thank all students for their dedication and fantastic ideas! We can\u2019t wait for the next competition, where we\u2019ll once again see your creativity!<\/p>\n

Independence Day Celebration\"\"<\/strong><\/h4>\n

On November 14\u201315, the entire school participated in a special assembly celebrating Polish Independence Day.
\nMs. Dorota reminded us how Poles fought for their long-awaited freedom and why this day is so important to all of us.
\nStudents recited poems, and the whole school sang together \u201cPrzybyli u\u0142ani pod okienko\u201d and \u201cJak d\u0142ugo w sercach naszych.\u201d
\nWe began the assembly, of course, by singing the Polish national anthem.
\nThe children proudly showcased their heritage! ❤️🤍
\nIt was a deeply moving and patriotic day at our school!<\/p>\n

Patron\u2019s Day \u2013 Celebration of John Paul II<\/strong>
\n\"Patron\u2019s
\n<\/a>On October 20\u201321, we celebrated our school\u2019s patron, Pope John Paul II. Our Polish School, named after the Polish Pope, was officially established on January 24, 1980, shortly after Karol Wojty\u0142a was elected Pope. This historic moment inspired a group of Poles in Lemont to create a school dedicated to preserving Polish identity among children abroad.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, we encouraged students to wear school shirts, which reminded us of our heritage and strengthened our sense of community. The celebration was also a time to reflect on the values John Paul II taught us \u2014 respect for the past, responsibility for the future, and love for our homeland.<\/p>\n

We marked Patron\u2019s Day with a special ceremony for students. To honor the occasion, children were encouraged to wear school apparel.<\/p>\n

Mass for the Beginning of the School Year<\/h4>\n
On Sunday, October 19, we participated in a special Mass marking the beginning of the school year and the feast day of our patron, St. John Paul II. It was filled with pride, emotion, and joy!<\/div>\n
Our school was beautifully represented, and members of the Polanie group took part in the service with great pride.<\/div>\n

Our Students at the NEXT Conference \u2013 We Had to Be There!!!<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\"\"On Saturday, October 22, our students participated in NEXT \u2013 Conversations for the Next Generation, an inspiring conference for Polish school students in the Chicago area. The event featured speakers including scientists, lawyers, artists, doctors, and entrepreneurs of Polish descent, who shared their stories and experiences.<\/p>\n

The goal of the conference was to motivate young people to pursue ambitious goals and achieve their dreams. It was an incredibly inspiring experience that will stay with our students for a long time!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
